Teklatech Establishes Presence in the Japanese Market
Teklatech expands its worldwide coverage with the appointment of Japanese representation
Copenhagen, Denmark, June 9th 2010 – Teklatech, an industry pioneer in EDA solutions for optimizing digital ASIC power integrity, today announced the formation of a representative agreement in Japan. The agreement enables Teklatech to address the strong interest from Japanese semiconductor companies in the FloorDirector® EDA solution, which is used to reduce IR drop, EMI and substrate noise very early in the backend flow. Customers will benefit from local sales support and first level application engineering, and this will accelerate Teklatech’s access to Japanese semiconductor vendors in end markets like automotive, mobile applications and digital consumer electronics.
The Japanese team is headed by Fumikatsu Adachi, a well-known EDA profile. Teklatech will leverage the team’s extensive experience in supporting and selling in the Japanese market. “Fumikatsu Adachi’s team has a strong reputation and customer contact base, as well as a proven track record of selling and providing technical support for leading-edge EDA tools from other companies. For Teklatech, being a young company with a unique solution which solves an industry-wide challenge, it has been imperative to sign up a high-competence and proactive representative that can add more value than a traditional product distributor,” said Christian Petersen, VP of Worldwide Sales at Teklatech, and added “with increasing competition at a global level, semiconductor business models are under ever more pressure for profitability. But leading Japanese semiconductor companies are at the cutting-edge, displaying technology leadership and a clear understanding of the fundamental design challenges. Our technology can help drive profitability for all segments of the semiconductor industry. We are confident that this new representation agreement will help grow Teklatech’s market considerably, and benefit our Japanese customers directly”.
Fumikatsu Adachi added, “We selected Teklatech as our partner as they have developed a novel and mature approach to solving a fundamental problem in SoC design. FloorDirector's capabilities of reducing EMI and substrate noise has really impressed us. We see this product and methodology as a fundamental part of a future design flow for Japanese semiconductor companies, and we will support the effort of Japanese customers to adopt and use FloorDirector in their design flows, to take full advantage of the many benefits the technology brings.”
Teklatech will be exhibiting at this year's Design Automation Conference (DAC) in Anaheim, California, June 13-18. At a DAC User Track session, researchers from STMicroelectronics will be presenting a methodology for noise reduction based on FloorDirector's Dynamic Power Shaping™ capabilities, and provide extensive validation data for the effectiveness of the technology.
DAC User Track: “A Power Shaping Methodology for Supply Noise and EMI Reduction” (STMicroelectronics / Teklatech), Thursday June 17, 2010 | 9:00AM — 11:00AM | 208AB.
